I don't know the full story but I hear several of the show staff are bad mouthing con chairs.
>>
Hey /mlp/,

Should I go to a con just to laugh at all the autism? Should I try to bone a "pegasister"?
>>
>>26450159
I don't care, it's your money, fag.
>>

It's fucking freezing here. No joke, people are getting sick because the hotel is so damn old. It's like 30 degrees in here. I got a posted signed by Lauren, so I've pretty much seen it all. I have a VIP Pass and I'm thinking of just going home tomorrow instead.

Uhm...
>>
>>26451329
This was a quick introduction welcoming everyone to Ponycon, probably only a 5 minute speech. They did have a voice actors segment though.
>>
>>26451438
lmao

sounds more like the venue is shitty rather than a management mishap desu
>>
>>26451438
And so it begins.
>>
>>26451511
No. The management is awful. There so fucking proud of this poorly run convention.
>>
>>26451167
It's really awfully cold in the con. I had a cosplay planned but decided not to dress up because I can't take my coat off.
>>
>>26451341
I hear the heads of the con took out home loans to pay for this bull shit con.
>>
This convention is everything I hate about this fandom. Pissed I came, definitely going to explore New York tomorrow rather than go back.
>>
This con has 0 security. I'm a vendor and noticed ad least 20 people without badges.

>>
>>26452307
How bad is it?
>>
>>26452417
It's not fog it's just the lighting in the con is awful.
>>
>>26452473
It looks like the lighting in Eyes Wide Shut.

Then somebody ought to bring in pic related and set it up in a prominent location.
>>
>>26452898
OMG Please!
>>
Cons cold, the convention hall is confusing and dirty, staff is terrible, panels are poorly organized.
>>
Definitely never coming back to this con.

You know its funny, I stayed all day and seen nothing but smiles. But then again I have been checking 4chan all day as well to see what bullshit people would say online as opposed to in real life.

The con was fucking cold obviously, did no one do homework and realize that the fucking NYC area would be in Ice-cold temperatures? Or more over that the fucking location is Prospect Hall? A building dating back more than 60 years and will not renovate to better heating because of the nostalgia and glory of the old mechanics?

Fucking assholes, don't come back. The staff was reliable for me up until the meet and greet. That's the only section where I can say they did have some faults.

Do your homework before randomly coming to a fucking convention to talk shit.

The thing is, from what it sounds like it's the convention that should have been the ones to do their homework here. It needs to be planned with the guests and attendees comfort in mind. It just doesn't make any fucking sense at all to host an event like this in old ass building with shitty heating in the middle of fucking winter. Being either too hot or extremely cold can be overbearing on some people and lead them to have an overall negative experience on the event regardless if everything else is perfect.
>>
>>26454340
>from what it sounds like it's the convention that should have been the ones to do their homework here
Con staff can't control the weather, Anon. They aren't pegasi.

If the con takes place during NYC winter, attendees should expect NYC winter and plan accordingly.
>>
>>26454365
Shouldn't need to if the building is heated properly like it should be. Weather isn't much of an issue unless for some odd reason everything is outside.
>>
>>26454365
The management should have investigated their location long before they scheduled the convention at all.

Checking the convention hall is one of the first things you should do when organizing a convention, even before inviting guests or advertising. If the hall doesn't suit your needs you find another venue that does.

Scheduling the convention in winter and not ensuring that the venue you're using is properly heated and well lit before setting up anything else is a major fuck up when it comes to organizing a con.

It's their fault. If the venue wasn't NYC winter suitable (well heated) and properly lit then they should have either found another venue that was or changed their scheduling for a less cold time of year.
>>
>zero con footage

BOY I'M SURE GLAD THIS FANDOM DROVE OUT EVERFREE NETWORK. THOSE SCUMBAGS FLEW ALL AROUND THE WORLD COVERING CONS FOR FREE BUT YOU STOPPED THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE TAKING OVER THE FANDOM GOOD JOB NOW WE GET SHITTY INCONSISTENT CON VIDEOS IF ANY.

>The staff was reliable for me up until the meet and greet.
Go on...

Can't wait to hear what tomorrow brings.
>>
>>26454421
>>26454427
It both is and isn't their fault.

On the one hand, yes, the venue should have been properly heated. On the other, it was literally between 5 and 10 degrees outside with some nice wind sucking away any warmth for most of today. Even the modern building I work in was having trouble keeping up, and it's entirely possible that the venue planners did look at the time and simply didn't predict shit being this absurdly cold.

Now, the lighting issues - that was a fuckup, pure and simple.
