Wouldn't that be a hilarious virus? Just whenever you open a tab, Lyra just sits there on the tab and prevents you from pressing the x. Shortcutfags know the alt-f4 but normies don't.

You can minimize the tab, but you can't close it, and whenever you bring the tab back up, Lyra will be sitting there.

Staring.

so you admit that they are spying? because literally none of that information is useful to anyone unless they were doing something wrong. anyone who uses that software is treated as a criminal before jury, you might as well advocate a camera in your house feeding directly to your local police servers since you aren't doing anything wrong

oh wait, they cant do that because its illegal. i wonder why its illegal, probably has something to do with your inalienable rights your founding fathers wrote up or something

Sure, but it's not exactly the same thing as using dedicated plugins for handling blocklists.

For example, one of the blocklist (easylist, IIRC) has a long winded feud with sourceforge, which basically prevents any sourceforge based page from loading. At least, with ABP or UBO I can simply temporarily disable the block, instead of double checking every single time a txt list.

how you were using it didn't make sense either. ricers are purely cosmetic, there are hardware ricers, they spend hundreds on a case andspend several days hiding every wire in it. but just using an old pc is simply resourceful. many linux distros for example are built for computers with so little ram like puppy linux and slackware, and even without an x server 256 megabytes is more than enough for a server box

A little, considering if any corporation in the USA does anything remotely illegal they are facing total shutdown, and the like. Unlike you, I have a little faith in government and don't believe that it's run by a shady underground society that for some reason has different actual laws than the ones that are established and shown to the world so they have the moral permission to take out random people who believe they are law abiding citizens for the lols. And I'm pretty sure Google doesn't have a ninja assassin's creed type sector to take down people who watch the wrong type of porn

Law is dictated by the government. Do you know what the government is? It's not sentient, and it's neither benevolent nor malevolent. It's just a system of institutions, all of which ultimately boil down to a bunch of people. Without a head, it would be blind, stupid, and utterly devoid of an agenda. Right now, the United States is a big, plutocratic mess where big corporations are the closest thing that this network has to a head. Big corporations control the government, and Google will do whatever it wants.

They set up huge vacuums for data.
All the government needs is a subpoena and google will hand over all the nitty gritty details and they can find something to hammer you down with.
>>26118587
The whole point is that the systems are not human active ones but passive sinks of information.
It is very possible to prevent data from leaking to them and the less you allow, the better.
They don't "try harder" because no one is monitoring these systems to that degree, they just don't see any information.
>>
>>26119403
Not sure if you know or not, but the United States of America is led by three branches. The executive, or the President of the USA and about 5 million workers, the legislative, which includes the Senate and the House of Representatives, and the Judicial, which includes the Supreme Court. None of these branches include businesses or corporations. Typically, a nation is run by government, not businesses, which is the system the USA follows. Also, companies are defined in law as "legal persons," or basically under the same laws as a real person. Google doesn't have the right to go and murder someone because they feel like it because Google has the same rights as a person.
>>26119458
Google ≠ NSA
Google doesn't have a fucking cabinet somewhere that states "User 'Fuckmeintheass Clinton' is actually 'Joe Brown'. Make sure to tell employers this if they ask." They don't have the time or resources to go to every single user that has a Google account's IP address, look up their home address and get the names of everyone who lives there, it's A.) illegal and B.) too inaccurate, as multiple people may live in one home who all have Google accounts.
>inb4 "but Google is above the law, they are working with the government and getting away with literal murder!"
Read what I wrote to the other poster, companies don't have different, more laxed laws than people
>>
>>26119641
>companies don't have different, more laxed laws than people
Not the anon you were talking to, but they kinda do, if their activity can ease the control operated by the government.

This of course doesn't mean they can do what they want, nor that they can kill people. See more it like this: they are placed into a sistem that can slow down a bit their fall if they happen to bend the law, enough to get around it.

Corporations have their claws in every branch of government. They decide who runs for president through donations (executive), they bribe representatives and pay for lobbyists (legislative), and the supreme court has favored them enough to allow the previously stated things happen (judicial). And that's just talking about branches, not to mention the influence they have over the population through TV and whatnot.
