If my understanding of the story is correct, Sunset ran away when Twilight was a filly or something. She'd have been in the human world a lot longer than 4 years. If I'm wrong and it was some point closer to the show, then it'd still be, what? 5 years? 6 maybe?
Actually that raises a whole new question. Does her body even age? If she was really there since Twilight was a filly, that's upwards of decades and she still looks like a teenager. If it was only the few years, she still hasn't aged a day from those 4 pictures up on the wall in EqG 1. Hell, the Dazzlings were there for thousands of years. I know they had access to some flavor of magic, but doesn't the fact they're stuck as teenage girls strike anyone else as odd?

Inmy headcanon, Sunset is an early bloomer who ran away when she was 12-13 and lies about her age to her landlord. The EqG3 commentary said she has a job, so it's not too much of a stretch to think she has a shitty apartment too.
