The Apple family of Ponyville visited the Pie family of... wherever they're listed as living, besides their family farm. Pinkie's family does seem rather rustic, but even as simple as their means are, there's some evidence they aren't totally cut off from a greater community. Train stations and choosing stones generally do need more than a single family for justification. So did the visiting Apples get to see the local town, presuming there was one? How must it look in winter? Is the whole place centered around rocks?

You can't necessarily tell twins just from looking at them. Flim and Flam, Gold and Red delicious could be as well, the spa ponies, Flitter and cloudchaser, etc. The cake twins are the only ones that have been specifically named though.
I like to think the Delicious brothers are though if only to give us a pair of normal background stallion pone twin brothers. Not fond of Flim and Flam's puppet
