I plan on it, but I'm going to upgrade the motherboard/CPU first. The CPU is really holding me back in terms of bottlenecking. I'd overclock but...The CPU and Motherboard on there are from when I bought the computer as a pre-built. The motherboard doesn't allow overclocking, and I doubt I'd be able to find a mobo that supports a second gen Intel processor so I can overclock. Besides the parts are old as fuck and are about due for an upgrade anyways.

oh I know about CPU bottlenecks, I'm using Bulldozer. the thing generates so much heat I have to dial it back. I've had it stable above 4.6 GHz, but the H100i I have on it can't absorb the heat from the die spreader fast enough

I dunno, is it really worth getting something higher than like an i5 4690k with the GPU I have? I don't really plan on gaming at any higher than 96hz, MAYBE 120hz but then my monitor starts acting a bit wonky. you might get 10-15% performance gains. Keep in mind, that also means that at the same framerate, the fans are quieter and less load is on the CPU while doing the same job.
also it allows for future upgrades for GPUs and RAM. DDR4 is pricy right now, so it's more of an investment for later.
