It's worth it, new co-op covenant, some pretty amazing weapons, beast mode and ayy lmao mode (basically just cosmetic change runes unless you use them with specific weapons), literally Innsmouth near the end, and of course high level invasions (like BL80-120) invasions now happen in the DLC area's.

Not everyone is like us who have played the game almost everyday for the past year, have min/maxed pvp characters with 27.2% gems and tier-3 runes, like 16 +10 weapons, and shitpost daily on /bbg/ while playing through another NG+++++++ cycle at BL98.

Blood gem attack values, in the vanilla game the best you can get are like +18% to your attack rating (AR), if you do the chalice dungeons you'll eventually be farming bosses for top-tier gems with at the best are +27.2% AR each., meaning you get like an extra 80% damage.
My beast claws have an AR of around 250-280 without gems, with top tier gems it's about 450 (which for a fast weapon like beast claws is a lot, especially when you build up high enough beasthood so your AR goes up to around 800-900 with a single R1, with a slow weapon like Ludwigs you're look at close to 2000 AR if gemed right)

Yeah, NG+ is full of health sponge enemies and it's too late to get into the chalice since you need living string to get to the top-tier ones, which can only be gotten pretty much right before wet nurse.

Decided not long after starting to use the bike from Akira, for no other reason than it looks cool.
