Since Celestia and Luna are reduced to the status of school faculty in EQG, gods don't exist there.

Science is the key, Twilight--deify yourself and revive the Mandate of Heaven!
>>
>>25645089
Did you really believed me? It' 2015 what are you even talking about? That's so stupid, Twilight, i'm disappointed in you.
>>
Yes I believe in God but I believe he is just observing us like a scientist observing cell cultures in a petri dish and has no impact on our everyday life. Also I don't believe there is any afterlife because neurology has pretty much refuted the concept of dualism. However, if the Quantum Mind Theory turns out to be true, it would validate some Buddhist beliefs about an afterlife.

If he's all you have, why has he seen it fit to make you forever alone?
>>
>>25645227
Maybe someday I won't be, Anon. Maybe the future is waiting for me to find it. Perhaps a million things could change in my life in the next five years.

I'd rather believe in God than kill myself. I'd rather think that, even if He's no more real than the ponies we all adore, He still loves me. I'd rather have hope.
>>
>>25645246
This nigga gets it.
Without hope we have nothing.
>>
You know, I've been thinking. If there is a hell, how bad could it be?

A tornado of flaming souls would be painful at first, but most people would get used to it eventually then it just becomes a cozy rollar coaster ride.
Or on the other end. If they make you do a meaningless task over and over. What's holding me to it? I'm dead, what they gonna do, kill me?

>what they gonna do, kill me?
>>
>>25645598
This is what I imagine hell would be like if it was real.
>forever trapped as an all but empty slab of meat entirely focused, to the point of absurdity, on one task that is forever just out of reach
>the tiny speck of focus within your mind keeping you from being an empty husk being just enough to know vaguely the situation you are in but is, itself, hyper focused on performing a task that only serves to make your Sisyphean ordeal more agonizing
>completely convinced that it must as many times as possible before your body succeeds in its task to make the completion of it feel even more satisfying as well as thinking that, against all logic, doing it enough times will manage to make you complete your body’s task
>>
>>25645598
There are plenty of different hells people have come up with. How about the hell where you're incapable of knowing that you're dead and you think that everyone just hates you, because you don't know they can't see you.
>>
>>25645787
>no one can see me
This is supposed to be hell not heaven.
>>
>>25645598
According to a certain religion, true hell is being alone and in the dark, fully aware of every bad thing you have done, knowing that if you had chosen differently, you could have become married and live with your family for eternity. Instead, you are literally forever alone. You aren't even cast out, you yourself choose to live in darkness, because it is more bearable than living with people whose very existence reminds you of how much you messed up.

Thankfully, it takes a lot of effort to earn that hell.
>>
>>25645731

So in other words, it's real life.
>>
>>25645731
So they get me drunk and tell me to put a square peg in a round hole? The problem there is im not me. There's no torture because I can't understand what I'm doing is wrong. And if there was a part of me is say it's bs and drop it.
>>25645787
id figure it out when id try to hit someone and itd go right through. Or if it did connect then I can go around fucking with people.
>>25645854
Humans are adaptable and morals are relevant. Eventually someone would say "no point getting autistic over the past" or theyll say "well who says that's bad. I say it's good." Then it becomes a problem of being stuck in a black abyss with just your imaginary friends and your belly for a drum set.

Perhaps you missed the word "incapable". Hells are not supposed to have loopholes.
>>

>people ignored me and my first reaction isn't to hit them.
What else would I concluded when I hit them and they either ignore it, or act like they got hit by something invisible.

>hells aren't supposed to have loop holes
Then how come they all do?
>>
>>25646009
In the particular hell I was mentioning, you are basically driven insane to the point that you cannot recognize basic facts, such as being dead. You don't get to just say "I'd figure it out". That's like saying "I could never get schizophrenia, because I'd figure it out when I could pass through the hallucinations".
>>
>>25645891
When you are in the afterlife, and God's power is inherently bound to virtue, moral relatively ceases to be a viable form of delusion.
>>
>>25646049
This.

In this world nothing can really be proven either way, but in this discussion we are saying "let us assume that we are in the afterlife now and such-and-such is the case." That means that those are the facts of the hypothetical, and denying them is contradictory.

>>25645854
Anon said "what about a hell where X" and then
>>25645891
said "but eventually, not X".

Thought experiments do not work that way.
>>
>>25645089
>You turn back around in your seat because you're a good catholic boy and ain't nobody got time for dis blasphemy
>Saganlight Neverlaid feels stupid and sad with no one to talk to now
>>
>>25646049
Then you're not torturing me you're basically torturing a robot.
>>
>>25646077
Nigga it's all hypothetical
There's no hypothetical hell that can not be bested by a human without making the human not human.
Then what's the point? If you can mind fuck someone to be anything then why torture them? They aren't going to learn from it.

You still have your free will. It's just that you have perfect recall, and knowledge of absolute morality. Would you not be more you, if you could remember clearly everything you have done?

>>25646173
Hell isn't for learning. It is the consequence of purposefully doing wrong.

>>
>>25645598

As a Christian, I imagine that Hell isn't a place of eternal torment. Rather, I feel it is a place where Jehovah God's presence isn't felt. I believe that God loves you, no matter what, and he will not force you to love him. Therefore, Heaven is a place where people who love God can live their afterlife in peace, and Hell is a place where people who don't love God can live their afterlife away from God.
