I don't hate EQD, but for some reason this article makes me... mad I guess? I'm not sure exactly how to put it. I'm not happy for some strange reason, that's for sure.

It's true that he fandom will take a long time before it becomes obscure, and that would take Hasbro to die, the fanworks and such to die and the loss of interest in cute equine spinoffs/knockoffs as a whole. The franchise has gone so far compared to its brother franchise GI Joe, but unlike Transformers it still has something lacking in the official toyline compared to the black market products we can buy online or at cons.
It's just a desperate man trying to cling to the only relevance he had in life. Don't hate Seth, pity him. When FIM dies, so does the fandom and himself.

Well, I actually expected worse but look like he is not wrong...
Where I'm actually the more agree with Sethisto is about the two cases: Where the sixth season + the movie are the last things about Gen 4.0 and so the brony fandom becomes like the Star Trek one or even the Star Wars one, or we have more seasons and Hasbro will milk it until the cow doesn't give any milk anymore..
But, for the second case, I really don't want that MLP FIM becomes the new The Simpsons...
I want good seasons, not bad ones...

How does it feel to know that there are many on this board who clings to this same idea? That this show will last forever, either in creation of episodes or pure Fanwood fueling it. And they think it is a good thing. They believe that it's going to always be perfect and great and fun. What if I told you that just like every other fandom that has had gaps in time between real releases (Sonic, Star Trek, etc) are disasters of fandoms. Do you think it was cool or good to be a trekkie ever? Think of the stereotypes made of those people. It's because of those people in denial who clings to fanfiction, fan theories, and fan work really are just that crazy and weird. Is that really what you want to do with your time? Obsess over a show that won't even exist anymore? It'll be even worse since we are also a subset of the furry fandom which makes even weirder shit, kind of like the sonic fandom. I'm kind of appalled at the fact that there are so many people on this board who have the mentality that they will stick around after the show ends and cling to a dead price of media.

That feeling is the existential horror that the fandom may outlast your own joy in the show. It's fine to enjoy something in the moment, but to cling to a dead piece of media is to dig your own grave of suffering and bitterness which makes you into a shitty person. It has nothing to do with which fandom is better or why we're weird right now. It has to do with the fandom mentality post show.
