>They land and Starlight asks what is this place
>Her question gets ignored when:

>They walk away from the map for a while, Starlight quietly surveying the wasted surroundings
>Suddenly thunderous thumps
>It's Tirek
>He says something simple like "some magic remains after all" or "so you brought someone with you this time" and proceeds to chase them
>Twilight and Starlight fight him briefly, but they are quickly overwhelmed
>Starlight in particular gets really tired
>She fires a last ditch beam at Tirek who casually catches it in his hand and eats it, Shining Armor style
>She gapes open mouthed at him in shock

>"RUN!" Twilight shouts, and they start to move in the barren wasteland (let's assume it looks like that)

>This is just one possible future where if she and her friends weren't friends, he would be loose and cause all this
>Starlight is in denial, no way Twilight and her little friends could've beaten that monster, nor could she stopping the Rainboom be responsible for this future

>Tirek launches another blast directly at Starlight
>Starlight, exhausted from the Tirek battle and running, can't dodge
>Suddenly Twilight zooms in around her and puts up one of her bubble shields (like how Atem defended Joey and Mai from Ra's attack for you Yu-Gi-Oh fans, how I visualize it)
>Twilight grunts in pain while Starlight looks at her in complete shock as Twilight protects her from the blast

>"You see now Starlight?" she says. "This is what you were really doing." She points to her own flank showing her cutie mark gone, and Starlight looks to her own to see it gone as well, nearly tearing up, finally giving in to remorse

>Looks like all is well, except suddenly they scream as they begin to fall through the cloud and out of the sky

>They're getting closer and closer to the ground.

>Instantly Twilight stops falling, a shot of their shadow visible on the ground, before zipping upwards and soars into the sky, their magic restored, flapping her wings majestically while Starlight and Spike hang on
>Twilight only smiles at them both as she heads for the time portal that opened up again
>They enter it and land back in the castle
>Same scene as the show, Spike kisses the ground, etc.
