Imagine this: There are different planes of existence/reality. There's a hierarchy where the highest plane is the ultimate reality. Any thoughts had on that plane are then created on the next highest plane, and so on, and the very bottom tier is where there is no imagination.
For perspective, let's say our reality is anywhere between the highest and lowest planes. We exist on Plane X. Any powers that created our multiverse exists on Plane W, like God or Allah. The timelines we create, such as the Marvel Universe or MLP, exist on Plane Y. And anything thought up by them, such as Power Ponies, exists on Plane Z.
Thus, even though we are not the creators of these things on Plane Y, because we are on the same plane as their creators, we would technically be gods if we were on their plane of existence.
TL;DR what if we were gods in our comic books and we're really just part of a comic book ourselves?
