Damn G1 was rough sometimes.
>>25478666
G1 didn't fuck around.
>>25478683
Smooze has really calmed down since the 80s.
>>25478666
Sometimes there was so much cum on set they tried to use it as a prop for the next scene. It became an occupational hazard.
>>25478683
BOW BOW BOW
BOW BOW BOW...
>>25478683
I want to cum inside Smooze
>>25478683
All that cocaine mang
>>25478666
The ponies were assholes in MLP Tales.
Guess they better represented their audience, though.
While we're talking about previous gens, G4 Minty when?
>>25478666
Sure Satan
>>25478843
>You grotty lit'l shit...
>>25478882
Be funny if she showed up in the movie.
>>25479002
I would cheer out loud in the theater.
>>25479064
>She's Minty, isn't she?
Oh fug. Literally zero faith.
>>25479118
It's kind of justified. Minty is G3's equivalent to Derpy.
Tales Bon Bon a qt
>>25479164
Truth. She also filled a sort of Pinkie Pie role, since G3 Pinkie was more like Twilight/Applejack.
Here mintybro, you can have one of my rares.
>>25478882
>>25479064
Damn, I should really watch G1 if I ever have time.
>>25479064
>darling
Was Dash G3's Rarara or something?
>>25479433
Rainbow Dash always dresses in style.
>>25479433
Ever hear "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style"? That's from G3.
Yes, she was their version of Rarity.
>>25479433
Yeah, exactly.
Rainbow Dash is G1 Firefly
Pinkie is G3 Minty
Twilight is G1 Twilight
Rarity is G3 Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy is G1 Posey
Applejack never changed.
>>25479509
Based.
>>25479509
>Pinkie is G3 Minty
Pinkie is way more on top of things than Minty. She's just weird, but she isn't a klutz.
>>25479520
I want to found a new branch of the Apple family tree with AJ
>>25479164what if they revealed her name as Minty?
>>25478666
Wow. Literally the first trips I ever got.
It is satan trips.
Also it is a G1 post.
It is like Satan is literally trying to tell me something.
>>25479421
That's G3, brah.
>>25479433

>Rarity is G3 Rainbow Dash
>>25479509
>Applejack never changed
Oh if only she was Pearry or something.
>>25479632
I'd be more than okay with it than the fucking "Muffins" credits she got.
Derpy=Minty>Bright-Eyes>Ditzy Doo>Unnamed>Muffins
>>25479064
This is making me interested in a generation that is not 4. Pls stop.
>>25480006
I hear the rest isn't that good, and I haven't seen it myself. I just like those quotes.
>>25479840
It really went from that to the cancer that was G3.5? Crazy.
>>25480019
Good to hear. Without my excuse that G4 is unusually good compared to all the previous MLP series, I... well, I have nothing left.
>>25480065
The other series aren't done as well as G4 overall. Still, this show was inspired by them, so there's no harm in admitting that parts of them are good- or could be good if done correctly.
>>25480065
I'm honestly riding on the hope that this was all just a long 5 to (potentially)7 year fluke and the next gen will not be as good and I can put this pony stuff behind me considering I had the faintest idea MLP even existed before this.
>>25480237
>Not knowing MLP existed before G4
How is that possible? With all the drama and early fanart alluding to older generations, you could've at least known there was a history.
>>25480251
I worded that awkwardly; I knew it existed and my younger sister had a toy years ago but it was literally never on my mind before these days. Like to the point where if you'd ask me about it before I'd have to think before saying "oh it's like barbie with horses, right" or something along those lines.
>>25480272
>barbie horses
"THEY'RE ACTION EQUINES, BIG BROTHER!"
>>25480272
Most people here felt that way before FiM came around.
Remember when Applejack canonically died?
>>25480032
G3.5 actually wasn't bad. It had more adventure to it than most other G3 works, barring maybe A Very Minty Christmas, and the ponies actually - gasp - dared to get mad at each other.
Pic related is G3.5, by the way. You might be thinking of G3.75, which is the two Newborn Cuties shorts. And yes, those were every bit the steaming piles of irredeemable crap they've come to be known as.
All I'm getting out of this thread is that I should watch the other generations of mulp.
Can I get a confirmation?
>>25480288
just saying, I just hope after this ride finally endssadlythe next series won't be entertaining enough to grab me and I can finally put it behind me.
>>25480287
She never forgot to bring up the "horse barbie" story whenever she catches me watching it.
>>25480237
I fear the 'fandom' will keep momentum from G4 and praise G5 regardless of its quality. It'll become fandom of the franchise instead of of a particular cartoon, and I'll have to distance myself even further from it around people who are otherwise cool shooting the shit about cartoons.
>>25480320
Oh how the times have changed.
What a weird phenomenon we indulge ourselves into. My family just thinks MLP is another anime.
>>25480315
Give a try. See where you can make connections to FiM.
I've only seen a tiny bit of the original 80s series, which is the only other generation most people feel is worth watching. I'm a little less than halfway through MLP Tales, which is funny in an exaggerated cartoon sort of way, and I've seen all of G3, which is mostly vapid, but cute and colorful with humorous quotes and expressions.
>>25480336
If it is good, there's the opposite to worry about: that people will be called bandwagoners for liking it. I mean, we already get enough of that for enjoying G4.
>>25480315
You probably should. You might even pick up some hints on who they might put in future seasons of the G4 show. I think Yayponies has links to it.
>>25480336
I honestly don't think they will be able to top how cute the ponies look in FiM.
>>25480364
You're right. It's a catch-22.
>>25480394
Better to just wait and see than to try and predict what will go wrong. Let the good things surprise you.
>>25480365
>"Apple sauce!"
I really want to hear G4 Applejack say this
>>25480429
A refreshing perspective.
>>25480586
Makes it easier to enjoy things- for me, at least.
>>25480296
>aslion meeting
kek
>>25479064
hey that's an actual dialog? one that's not like, written by a mong for illiterate children?
>>25481368
Apparently they actually say that, yes.
>>25480296
Plenty of moments like this in G1.1, that was something. Today such a cartoon would be PG-10 or something. the crispness of traditional animation and art reinforces the idea that it's really not the Care Bears. it's really an old fashioned fantasy story, where bad guys really are the bad guys.
>>25481375
i just imagine a G1 styled episode redoing some of the scenes from The Wall, that would be ...amazing.
sad cause no western studio wants to traditionally animate anymore
>>25479509
>Applejack never changed
I guess you could say she didn't learn shit.
>>25479509
But Applejack did change. She was like Derpy in season 1. Silly pony.
