I didn't really like the concept of it but I only name dropped my gifted because some people were getting antsy about not being called out. I think we should try and restrict it to hints instead of flat out names but that's just my opinion, it makes those who don't have their names specifically called not feel bad about it, and it makes those who haven't called out their santee feel less pressured about doing so. Instead of feeling anxious about your name being called you can have fun trying to guess which anon may be talking about you.

Small Update from me - read this if you can't draw to save your life but want to give something handmade:I decided to go with perler beads (hama, to be precise) since my santee wished for something handmade, but there's no way in hell I could make a plushie or I'd draw something even remotely resembling ponies.
Then it occurred to me: All this 8-bit pixel art I saw so often could easily made using "these colorful thingies they use to make window decorations". After some research, I found out that these "thingies" are called "iron beads" in english.
What I'm trying to say is this: Anon, if you don't know what to int your santee, make something using iron beads! It is ridiculously easy, and you can find a shitload of images of it on the net. You don't need any guides or even any talent - all you need to do is to count the beads the others used for their motives if you can't tell how to do it by looking at the image alone.
It even is cheap as fuck: One package (1000 beads) costs about 1,8€, and the pegboard is costs about 3€. Everything together was about 15€, but I have enough to make a lot of motives. I can even send some together with a card since they don't add much weight, so even though they only wished for a card, they get a small present along with their card.
Did I do alright? I hope this helps my fellow anons.
