Eh, i can understand why it was removed. It made Dash look really horrible and unfirendly. Even though the message was good "Some people just don't want to be bothered by you" is very usefull. I think Maud Pie made it look better, although i think such episode should be done with Discord. Him being completely ignored and disliked by some other pony like Shining Armor or Spike would make sense and woudn't make them look like assholes since they would have reasons to dislike him.

There's not much to discuss. It was supposed to be a funny gag (guy likes girl but girl is oblivious to his advances and shoots him down unintentionally) but it was cut-out because it depicts Dash in a bad light and doesn't fit the story.
It would be interesting to see Dash work with Twilight to stop Pinkie I guess since both these ponies seem to have a stronger relationship (along with AJ but that was established later) with Pinkie compared to Rarity and Fluttershy, but I think it's better it turned out this way.

Dash can be a little brash sometimes, but she's very friendly and overall a really nice pony.
I honestly wish the writers would spend more time thinking about characterization. Sometimes they just fuck it up badly, and if they had let this scene pass it would have been a monumental fuckup. For a show that relies so much on it's highly developed characters, they really could stand to make sure they don't portray them as huge dicks for no reason.

From what I've heard, that "accident" was intentionally left in by an animator but wasn't supposed to show up in the shot and that Lauren was lurking the /co/ threads when the episodes started airing and was aware of the character being noticed by the people there. Why that was the original name, I have no idea. But from the scripts that AKR posted on twitter plus the original lyrics of the Smile song note that the name was changed and that can obviously be attributed as a shout out to the fans.

I think it worked both ways. Ditzy had no design, but since we made Derpy a klutzy design, faust and co started to associate the grey blonde mare design to the name, and then as the year went on and derpy became more and more popular they swapped the name as well.
