Guys. I've read the washing your plush guide, but I have to ask, I got one of those massed produced twilight sparkle plushes. How would I be able to tell what material it is? I don't think it's minky, my dash plush is and it doesn't feel the same. I want to clean her but I'm not sure how to go about it. If I ruin her id be devastated. Here's what she looks like. Should I clean her the same way as it says?

Looks like fleece anon. You can try washing her by hand with some detergent, then shove her in a pillowcase and put her in the dryer. Fleece doesn't have a nap like minky that you need to worry about, so you can be a bit more rough with it

Hard to tell if that's the case or not. For sure there's more discussion on here and there's actually plush makers willing to do it available now, so it's not quite the rarity it used to be. I think that it only seems that way because as a whole the mlp fandom is shrinking to only content creators, who are more open to fetish stuff anyway. Now if we had the same size and population distribution as we did when hoppip first made blog headlines I think that love plushies would still get the same amount of hate.
Or it could be that it has been a long enough time and the fandom has splintered amongst it's huge size that the dawdlings of only one niche group of pony fans go under the radar, and people now hide the tag "merch sexploitation" from their search results to help with that.

Hey plush thread, any comments on the durability of duchesse satin? It's typically used in wedding dresses and costumes. I have some that's almost matte that I was considering using for the white and black part of a set of eyes, but there's some concern over its longevity. It's much thicker than some of the stuff I tried and was disappointed with in the past, so I was hoping it would be ok. Otherwise I'll just stick with cotton, as that's what the iris is going to be anyway.
