IBO is going to be just strange to work into a SRW, it is technically post apocalyptic but not really either since it is long after humanity has recovered fully.
Also something else that gets rarely touched on or brought up about IBO, there are no energy weapons at all. Everything is plain old physical bullets, missiles, rockets and bludgeoning weapons. There are no beam weapons, beam sabers, masers, colony lasers, even the capital ships don't have anything more than auto-turrets, sentry guns and high calibur cannons.
It's even a point that being able to replace the Gundam's armour is some kind of witchcraft due to the tools they have at their disposal making it difficult to replicate the composite alloys used in the armour.
When IBO does get in it's either going to be through a lazily written multi-dimensional shenanigans again, a time jump. Or a VERY low tech SRW which quite frankly the devs seem terrified of since every low tech series in a SRW ever has been handwaved with time travel or a another dimension instead of trying to make a consistent world.

Setting-wise the Calamity War might not be a bad backdrop for something like AGE's big ancient clusterfuck. GX and Turn A (and maybe shit like Xabungle or GxS) don't seem like they'd work in too badly either.

Actually L in general was marked by some odd twists with most human antagonists ending up being incredibly reasonable people and people actually talking out misunderstandings.

Chapter 44 Part 1
We cut back to the Orbital Base to see what exactly's going on with the characters who were left behind in the attack on the Devil Colony. Tex is treating Allenby's DG Cell problems while everyone else is assigned on defense duty.
The Dancouga villains lead by Helmut and Shapiro decide to take advantage of the opportunity and sends out a full 49 units + their mothership to crush the 4 girls and the immobile Excelion. The Black Knight arrives as a reinforcement to help out the turn afterwards.
A while in and then the Gandor will make a suicide rush to take down Helmut's ship however he gets attacked by a set of spawned reinforcements. Black Knight gets his identity revealed as Alan Igor, Commander Igor's son as he tries to save his father from getting blown up. Shinobu and the rest of the CBF arrive to help out which causes Hazuki to unveil the final code "FINAL DANCOUGA" causing Dancouga + Black Wing to combine.
Final Dancouga blows up some of the enemy units and we continue the assault. Inspired by Final Dancouga's formation, Noriko opts to get Gunbuster and she shows off some of its combat prowess. The stage changes to blow up Helmut's ship in 5 turns so you have to do some accel and support attack abuse to take him down with only Final Dancouga and Gunbuster as the others will be defending the base so you don't lose to the other game over condition.
When you blow up Helmut's ship, Shapiro will run off and Shinobu kills him with the Final Dankuuhou.
On a gameplay related note, Final Dancouga loses the Dankuukougaken MAPW and trades the vanilla Dankuuhou for a 1-3P Aggressive Beast Charge which runs on Shinobu's inferior Melee stat. Although I'd sooner take this than Elly not being able to use a non MAPW version of Aerods in her hyper mode.
