Chapter 35
Open up with Seele discussing how they've already defeated 15 Angels and that their plans are going on smoothly. Elsewhere Annex is showing Illbora a brand new unit by the name of Zerokage.
Down in Last Guardian, Masaki is busy throwing his weight around much to the detriment of everyone else in the base. Later on that night, a new Hakkeshu member sorties ready to challenge Zeorymer to a fight. Zeorymer sorties with Masaki in tow however not to long after it deploys, Masato takes over as the main personality. He starts to panic as Miku isn't with him but with some encouragement Masato heads out to fight,
Ritsu comments that Zeorymer is rather underwhelming and quite a bit of Zaboom units spawn to help him corner his enemy some more. We arrive as reinforcements and then some more reinforcements arrive for the enemy side in the form of Yllbora and his squadron. Meanwhile, Yuratei and the others are with the missing Miku interrogating her about Masaki/Zeorymer.
Upon defeating Yllbora, Joe moves to finally defeat his enemy once and for all, Tobikage even comes along to fuse with the Kurojishi to help deal the last blow. Romina feels a bit of sorrow about Yllbora's passing however it doesn't last too long as a new machine arrives on the scene and picks up Yllbora from the wreckage. This "Black Tobikage" or the Zerokage is Yllbora's new machine and in a single blow, it forcefully decombined the Kurojishi and Tobikage. Joe and Tobikage react and with a bright light, Joe takes over as Tobikage's pilot. Defeat or reduce Zerokage's HP and Yllbora will retreat.
When you defeat Ritsu, he'll fire J-Kaiser on Masato which causes Masaki to take over. Ritsu explains his complex about the girly face that he was created with by Masaki and that he'll destroy him once and for all. Masaki laughs and calls for Zeorymer's missing part. This causes Miku elsewhere to transform and combine with Zeorymer where Masaki then blows up Ritsu in one shot.

Our team starts giving Masaki an earful about how evil he is and what he's doing in Masato but before it can continue, the battle gets interrupt by the 16th Angel, Armisael.
Jamil calls for Nerv reinforcements and everyone on the map shifts their attention to attack the angel. Defeat it and as per tradition, it'll fully regenerate. Nerv will arrive on the battlefield and the angel heads straight for Shinji. Rei moves to block the blow and gets infected by the beast.
Rei gets her fair share of mind attack from the Angel and we have no choice but to blow up Rei and Armisael. Shinji doesn't want to do it so Masaki moves with Zeorymer to do the deed instead.
Shinji tells him to stop but he states that he doesn't care about a "puppet" as he readies Meioh. Elly rushes to save Shinji from the attack before he gets killed in the blast. There's another share of tongue lashing for Masaki but he just leaves right after with Zeorymer in tow.
Afterwards, we cut to Shinji meeting a new Rei however this one doesn't recognize him. Ritsuko calls Shinji to visit a hidden room deep within Nerv. Inside is a vat of Rei clones and Ritsuko opens to kill all of them stating that she's done with this entire ordeal. The rest goes like in EVA TV.
Somewhere off screen, we have the GGG enemies stating that they're going to be making their move shortly.

Chapter 36 Part 1
We start off with Kouta and his dog police relaxing in the middle of the night when they get visited by an unknown boy who warns him of incoming danger. Not to long after the boy visits, Mamoru arrives and starts attacking the pair. They get saved by an unknown white haired man who runs chases Mamoru away.
Elsewhere, the remaining Hakkeshu and planning their next attack against Zeorymer. However there seems to be some infighting between Giso and Saiga which ends with Giso walking off.
Meanwhile, the Gradosians are also planning their next move in taking over the Earth and destroying Laynzer once and for all. Ru Kain orders his forces to move out to Tokyo 3 to get rid of Eiji once and for all.
We then cut to Tokyo 3 where Fei and Elly are out on an evening stroll. There they get visited by the white haired boy from earlier who introduces himself as Kaworu and Shinji's friend. Its initially met with some skepticism but there's no time for that as Tokyo 3's being attacked.
First up is some Zaboom units and the Hakkeshu who plan to draw Zeorymer out and destroy it once and for all. A few turns later the Gradosians join the party ready for a decisive battle as well.
When you destroy enough Zaboom units, Rockfell and Giso will leave the map as Zeorymer hasn't arrived as yet so they think they he's probably elsewhere. Replace those two are a bunch of Geisters backed up by Gades from Machine Robo's minions.

Chapter 36 Part 2
Chasing after the Geisters are Exkaiser and pals who decide to aid us with the other enemies as well.
When you defeat the Gradosian mothership, Ru Kain will sortie in the Zakarl ready and willing to kill Eiji. Upon defeat, Ru Kain will fully recover his unit.
Elsewhere in Tokyo 3, we cut to the Executioner musing about the current state of affairs. However something strange happens which causes all of the various power sources such as the G-Stone, Getter Energy and so forth to act up.
Executioner and Elly have a conversation but its cut short as everyone heads down into Central Dogma which is the source of the strange reading.
Here we see Kaworu reveal his true nature as the 17th Angel to Shinji and our allies. We also see the Xenogears characters go through some flashbacks. Back in reality, Ru Kain activates the Super Charged V-Max and uses it to destroy Eiji and the Layzner.
He then moves to attack Kaworu but he fails and is forced to retreat as his unit started to overheat. Kaworu then turns to Dinogeist who states that for now he'll assist our side as there's no world for him to do anything if he lets the Angels win.

Kaworu as a boss can be difficult depending on how much SP your characters have remaining after the end of the first part due to his sky high AT Field.
When you defeat him, Kaworu will concede and start telling us about the nature of the various power sources and the "goddess" in the back of Central Dogma. Mamoru will arrive on the scene setting his sights on the same thing. He'll move to steal it but Kaworu gets in his way. First Mamoru uses a Broken Magnum but it fails so he steps it up to Hell and Heaven which reduces Kaworu's HP to 10.
Kaworu tells us his last words and this gets Shinji extremely angry. He'll move to try and attack GGG but then Gai himself will arrive to deal with the matter. He'll ask Mamoru about his actions and decides that enough is enough and its time for him to pay.
After the Heaven and Hell show off, Gai ends up as the victor and kills Mamoru. Dinogeist leaves the area and we return above ground.
Back on the Gandor we find out that Eiji will be okay and he only needs some rest. Outside Gai will be talking to again to Mamoru however this one's the real one. This conversation gets cut short as some new foes arrive on the scene with the intention of stealing what Kaworu died to protect.
Exkaiser moves to prevent Palparepa from entering Central Dogma but he fails. Fei and Elly will try something similar as well but they fail too and which causes Palparepa to leave with the goods.
The enemies leave and we cut to Arma explaining to the commanders about our new foes, "The Masters of Sol"beings even stronger than the Z Master from a few years ago.

In a way, I guess V could be like the Alpha to Z's classic series. Taking a bunch of shows they've been using for a while, and giving them a fresh coat of paint while putting a new spin on them.

Any idea what this skill does? It costs 100 PP (read 100 kills) to unlock so it better be worth saving up for instead of just buying Concentrate and Will Limit Break instead.
So is it just me or is it kind of ironic that V is going to be the first official English non-OG SRW but the cast list isn't one that has any particular appeal towards that end?
Like, a couple of the newcomers are "the source material isn't available in English" series like Hathaway Flash and Might Gaine (Crabsticks don't count) and series like Yamato probably has more significance to Japanese players than overseas.
Or maybe I'm just ignorant about what the preferences of SE Asian people are in their robot cartoons?

Eh? You sure about that? MX did some really neat stuff with the TOEI shows, using a ton of the movie plots while at the same time giving them all brand new (and very pretty) sprites and animations, for example. It also followed the Eva plot way more closely than any other SRW before it (this was before Alpha 3, too). Machine Robo had that cool alternate dimension thing going on. G Gundam had that massive post-plot storyline, as well.
That being said, the game did have a pretty massive focus on the new series, with most of the returners acting as support. From what I can see, there's not gonna be such luck with MX, with that haphazard and do-whatever cast list.

How much did they nerf the Pfeil? The finisher was 6500 in DP, according to the JP wiki, so I doubt they'd reduce that. Some stuff from OGG->2nd OGs was nerfed but it didn't become unusable. If anything, reducing the Laz's finisher EN usage by 30 was a good thing, even if it lost a few hundred points.
I just doubt they'd drop the Pfeil into the "only good in the first half when the J and GC characters don't have their midseason upgrades" pile.
