Lighter skin is considered beautiful for girls in Japan. I'm actually surprised that he even went for some physical resemblance with the actors for most of them. Most of the Rider gijinka I've seen before don't seem to bother with that, only using the Rider design as a basis. It does make the exceptions look rather though, like shortstack Ghost.
