I liked the show, thought it was very comfy. Nice OPs, EDs and soundtrack. I really liked the characters too, and Daichi has a satisfying characters arc. The animation was quite good too, and I never got too tired of watching the stock footage Earth Engine gattai sequence.
In my eyes it was a 7/10, at least.
But I can understand that watching it weekly might have been tough for some /m/ people, since not much really happens in the show overall, and if you're the type of autist who drops a show if there's not enough mecha action and too much talking, it then it's also not for you.(Referring to the Kuromukuro shitposter that spams the threads about how "character drama is not /m/!!!!")
But really not much is ever explained either, and the ending was ambiguous. It's a simple plot, but details are left out or never really explained, or at least I never got some of it. I don't agree but I could definitely see why some would call it boring.
Either way, give it another go, the BDs are out, just look through the archives.

Let me ask you a question. Do you like the Neo-Zeong? If so, there's really no way to illustrate what's wrong with the Nightingale. If you're not a fan of the NZ, the problems with the Nightingale are simple enough to highlight. The forward position of the chest, no neck, the wide lopsided legs, the Quebley-esque funnel racks, and the retarded array of propellant tanks.
