For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!

Decided to bite the bullet and get a couple Commander Jahannams (one to straight build, and one for a custom project, probably using a crossbone backpack) since they were only four bucks each on HLJ's clearance. Is it an alright kit? The design looks cool but I never built any G Reco kits yet.

I don't normally use stickers for decals and obviously I could just go by the guide but I really wanted to customise it myself. Personal preferences etc but I really like the general revil decal on the chest. Plus Im going to build it in unicorn mode and I didn't want it looking like an amorphous navy blob.

as a owner of three for kit bash, kit bash and normal reasons I can say its gonna be alot of work. the caridigan gm or however its spelled leg thrusters are two big. The legs are longer on purpose not just to be katokied. The heads shape is elongated compared to the gm type c and also a different shape.
Not trying to knock you building skills at all Im just giving a heads up as finding shots from all angles and stuff alone is going to be hard.

This was a really fun build, and I'm glad I picked it up. It took a lot of work to get it to look good, and I know it's not perfect, but I'm happy with it. I feel like it was a good test of all the skills I learned up till now.

So which has less issues between the MG Qan[T] and MG 00 Raiser? From what I'm seeing both seem to have issues with pieces sometimes falling off, and the Qan[T] has that heavy lean with the shield on. Kind of like both suits but trying to get the one that has the less issues

The Qan[T] and 00 are both very good kits. They have basically the same frame from what I recall but the plate armor has differences. The 00 looks a bit more detailed and the Qan[T] has balance issues the 00 doesn't. If you really like the Quan[T] get it. It's not bad by any means and reinforcing the joints helps a ton.

So I just built my first gunpla the other night. It was the Kamiki Burning Gundam.
I'm considering buying another kit soon. But I dunno what. I only have one requirement right now:It's gotta have a sword

Views on average were about G-Reco level (~2%), even a little higher around Episode 20 iirc, and no doubt boosted for the finale but we never saw the final ratings. However for an episode or two ratings were REALLY low, dunno if there was an external reason for that but it was around the series' lowest points in terms of quality so probably not. On top of that, it was in a primetime slot (for comparison, Yu-Gi-Oh followed it and averaged about 4%) and appeared to be getting fairly hyped up but was still only pulling late-night ratings. A dub and streaming services were announced too, but we don't know how much that factors into sales expectations. It's hard to truly tell how much Bandai was pushing it because we don't see how many times they air commercials and previews and shit compared to other series, but for these reasons we can assume it performed below what was desired. However, gunpla sales seemed fine and character merch seems successful enough so it could hardly be called a flop.

The 2.0 has a duller gold compared to the original so I don't think it would make a huge difference.
That pose would look dumb on any other suit but when a golden one pulls it off it looks absolutely fabulous.

I recently picked up an finished an MG Sinanju Stein. Hands can't hold the bloody weapons for shit. However I do have one issue with the intact hand. The fucking ball part that connects the hand to the forearm/wrist came off in the socket however the hand snaps back onto it, should I ask for a replacement for that hand seeing as I have to replace the other one, or should I try welding it together?

Painters, in regards to paint setup/primer setup how do you go about it? I've got a cardboard box filled with smaller sectioned off cardboard pieces, alligator clips holding parts slotted into the holes.
From there what's the right way to do things? I'd be spraying primer with a rattlecan then painting with an airbrush. To my knowledge the guide doesn't mention this.

I'll be honest, I haven't seen Thunderbolt. I must've gotten trolled some time ago because someone had told me Johnny Ridden was in it and that was his Psycho Zaku. I apologize.
So, I've been thinking about developing a tabletop game for 1/144 scale Gunpla. From what I've thought up for concept:
>every model would need an action base
>must be 1/144 scale (all 1/144 grades allowed so long as you can put them on an action base)
>probably space battles only for now, since Terrain would be tricky
>probably something along the lines of Battletech, for customization rules
>Rules for weapons and such would be by AU, as well as judged by WYSIWYG, so you can kit bash
>You can mix and match AU's so you can go build fighters, do Zakus vs Wing Gundams, or just reenact stuff from the anime/manga
Then there's the whole issue of balancing everything, which would be hell and a half, but doable.
So what do you guys think? Would anyone be interesting in playing/play testing? Or is there something like this already out there?

Well, I think that the first thing you should think of is how many numbers you want, how deep the game would be, what systems would be in, and what kind of game you really want it to be. I don't know much about traditional games, but do you want a dice game or tactics, RPG like, or such?

For what I envision, it will be like a simulator of the show/manga. "Reenact your favorite scenes from the show, or make your own!"
I've played 40K and Battletech extensively, and am familiar enough with a bunch of tabletop systems. It's just a matter of making things easy to streamline, since I doubt everyone who builds Gunpla, and who would be interested in said game, would want to read 3 textbooks of rules.
Battletech has a nice manner of stating out mecha, but a pretty complicated system overall. 40k is pretty cinematic and streamlined, but more for a bigger scale, so individual units aren't as grand usually. Just gotta find that equilibrium.

Well, you could make two versions, a pretty barebones one at first and update it when ready with a new "expansion".
Just make UC first, give them some base stats and an easy system. Hell you could use cards too.

That's a good idea. Make some stats for the RX-79-2, maybe the Guncannon and Guntank and some Zakus, then move onto more specialized AU mobile suits and models. Might need to get some more HGUC kits then. Or maybe I'll do IBO, since I got plenty of them to work with. Good call!

Eh whatever regarding the Lego papers. There's shit written all over them so I haven't shredded them. I'm waiting for the hands I ordered to come in so the damn thing came actually hold the beam rifle and rocket launcher. I'm also working on getting a replacement hand for it. Reborns is okay but it's pretty low priority compared to the ones with no modern kits.
Bell pepper is a boring design but it's popular and is a massive hunk of expensive plastic so it probably fits right in with the Nightingale in the Re/100 line.

Triple Ritter Anon here, I'm thinking about using the stock Carta Graze shoulders I trimmed with a hot knife instead of the set of white ones, since they'll match the color of the rest of the model.
