I feel like playing 64 again and I think I'll make it a girls only run. Should I go Super or Real?
I'm looking at the route-exclusive secrets on a Japanese guide. If I go Super I can get three extra female Mazinger pilots, but to make them useful I'd have to take one specific route split later on to be able to get Minerva X and an MP Great (I think this route cheats me out of some sweet stuff like the MP Nu Gundam). Though I don't even know how useful those pilots would be anyway, I'm pretty sure they're all support types.
If I go Real, it seems that the only exclusive female pilot I get is Four. I can get the original Gundam, Guntank and Guncannon, which are pretty Superfluous. I can also get the Greimkaiser, but I don't know if Simone can pilot it.
I can use the Link Battler thing, so either way I'll have Cecily in the F91 right away.

Then that may have confirmed a theory I was considering, but wasn't sure of considering it was Nobel Gundam.
LOD Gaiking (and regular Gaiking for that matter) never allowed me to upgrade them until I'd gotten the Daikuu Maryuu as well so that they can combine and whatnot. So I guess the problem may be that you need another mech to unlock the capability. Do you have God Gundam yet?
If you do and that somehow still doesn't work though, then I'm stumped.

Despite playing J multiple times for god knows what reason, I've never bothered FUBing any units exactly for that reason. I like enemies actually attacking during the enemy phase.

When the moon is out it'll turn into a monkey and use drunken fist. Final attack will be a kamehameha coming out of it's mouth.
He'll become bros with Folka and get trained into how to use martial arts in a mecha by him. He'll be married to a Taiwanese woman, hence why he was there, their half HK half taiwanese daughter will also appear, and will be friends with Rio and pilot a exbein.
Later, his wife will pilot with him as well, and that'll be his mecha's upgrade.

You need N-Rage's Input Plugin. If the newest version doesn't work, try rolling back to 1.83, it's what I'm using. Go to the plugin configuration menu, Controller Pak tab, switch to Transfer Pak and locate your Game Boy rom and .sav file (that's an in-game save, not a save state). You also need to have at least one pilot in common in your current roster in both games, or it'll tell you that there are no pilots to link.

I know for a fact that Maria and Ginrei are pretty much the best pilots in this game thanks to the broken ESP skill, and you get plenty of high-end Mobile Suits and girls to put in them thanks to Zeta, ZZ and CCA being full in. And the protagonist is of course pretty broken.

Well yeah, what do you expect from a sequel to a niche as fuck crossover SRPG when a lot of the people who did buy the first game didn't even end up liking it? No matter how much it improved, the first game probably soured a lot of people on the idea of it.
The window in which 3DS CFW was possible on current firmware was pretty small too, on top of it being a relatively complicated process. It's nowhere near as easy or prevalent as breaking a PSP or just buying a flashcart for the DS.

All I know is that on SRW Z1 some units are programmed to attack particular units of yours, and then if someone gets hit, everyone gangs up on it to try and take it down.
As annoying as I find this, it's a legitimate strategy to be fair.

In most of the older games it seems to be proximity followed by lowest armor/mobility
In J it's whoever's most likely to take a hit
In L/UX/BX it's almost purely whoever has the highest current HP
I don't know the specifics of the rest but I think however it works in the OG works the best. Z series is fine too but the AI seems to tunnel vision kinda hard sometimes.
This is without counting special rules like enemies targeting certain units because of plot, like Axel always going after Kyosuke if he's in range.

The DS and 3DS games go for whatever has the highest current HP, with W throwing in "lowest dodge rate" into the mix, but thankfully it will register 0%. It also prioritizes hitting multiple units over single ones, so if you have units adjacent, the enemies will combo them, or it'll just do nothing but mapws.
OGs, OGG, and 2nd OGs, unless the enemy is specifically-programmed to attack something, will just go for the closest unit in range.

Early SRW is what it is, I think the last game to let you do this was either this or Alpha Gaiden.
So this game merges Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger plots into one, by doing Mazinger Z from the very beginning but using the Mycenae as the villains. Dr. Hell is still responsible for killing Juuzou, but in his Great Marshall of Hell form. Interesting how that worked out.
They do something similar with Grendizer and Godmars later, Zuul replaces King Vega.
