Cobray's (aka Ayin Barshem) one of the Ingram clone series (Barshems) like Viletta and co. He'd infiltrated the Londo Bell crew under the name Cobray Gordon and was checking out alpha's crossgate when what was left of Astranagant after Keisar Ephes got through with him popped out and ate his mech, turning it into Werkbau and him into an amnesiac.
A lot of the finer details escape me, it's been forever since I've played @3. Ingram's... possessing him or something? He basically pops up every so often to turn his hair blue and voice all weird and to unlock fancy new attacks for Cobray.
Stuff happens, the Balmar guys recapture him and his mech and... somehow turn the latter into Dis Astranagant and sic it on him (he escaped with the big-tittied Balmar princess). He takes over Dis, comes to terms with Ingram haunting him, and takes over his job, which... is apparently more than just 'jobbing to Euzeth', who knew. Something something dimensions something balance something factors etc.
Idly, it might be kind of interesting to see OG's Ayin Barshem pop up and NOT turn into Cobray. Lord knows they couldn't do any worse with him than Calico and Spectra.

His role in @1 wasn't super different from OG1; major differences are Euzeth is actually there and in command of the Aerogaters to start with, and they scheme against each other, Ingram uses Astranagant instead of R-Gun Rivale after he turns, and you have the option of recruiting him in the last (or not so last, if @DC) stage of @1.
Canonically you beat some sense back into Ingram but he fucks off after the game, because picking a solo fight with Keisar Ephes and not telling anyone is apparently a swell idea. Astranagant pops out of Alpha Gaiden's big non-Granzon OG boss (Augelmir) for its big attack in @G's fucked-up future but otherwise is incommunicado until @3's Cobray prologue.

Ingram - and Viletta - were Psychodrivers back in @1, so they could use R-Gun Powered's full array of tricks. R-gun itself was way cooler back then - it started the game Powered (before any other R-series got it), it could fly on its own, and it could fire the HTB Cannon/Metal Genocider mode solo, which hurts like hell.

That's really all I'm saying. The PV only had a handful of lines that were soft-subbed over the original trailer. Ideally, they want people to be excited about the game, they should put their best effort for those lines. What I saw did not inspire confidence. But it's fine.
