It's kind of funny - there's kind of a clear tier list in OE which consists of the multi-unit supers and a bunch of units with Pierce/Barrier Pierce, but even the lower tier units feel like they're a lot more usable compared to your average SRW benchwarmer.

I think the Hyaku Shitty was the only unit I thought was pretty unsalvagable.

I guess, as far as bosses go, but half the use of the bloody thing was for letting Supers hit swarms of speedy things over a turn, especially in some older games where you really can't upgrade accuracy.

I really hope that OE is very lenient on accuracy issues, because - even getting to use it on enemy turns - having to pay 10-30 SP every time you want to hit something if you're unlucky enough to be mobbed by dudes sounds absurd.

Lockon negates Double Image, but it doesn't negate things like Curse of Geass which are tied to the pilot. As far as I know, you only fight one enemy with that once (Suzaku himself, of course, on one of the story missions - I think one of the 7s?) outside of the sim missions.

As an aside, as much as I hate the Strike nerf, I grudgingly allow the Flash/Alert nerf, because it was normal in Neo (so was Strike) and as it turns out, on command instant dodging is broken as shit, news at eleven. As for Strike, I'm annoyed at it, but I'm more incensed at things like, say, Kouji Innacurate Asshole Kabuto NOT GETTING ANY ACCURACY BOOSTING SPIRITS THE FUCK.

I can't think of a game where the Zeta itself was particularly amazing before Z1

I mean usually it's alright, but it'll have problems like not getting Waverider Crash until six stages from the end of the game and being pretty weak before that, or Waverider Crash only being available in MA mode for some reason. Or having an abysmal EN pool like most Gundams despite having 2-3 EN heavy attacks.

It's definitely a monster in the Z series though.

For me Zeta has been a nice grunt killer in D, the Launcher is good enough since Kamille gets assault early and you need Newtype lv5 to use the Biosensor attacks (that's around lv20-25). Isn't Z1 Zeta but gets the job done.

Or even just 'this bot is going to prolly take maybe 3-4 attacks and is kind of inaccurate; wouldn't it be nice if I could just pop 15-20 SP and not worry instead of 10-20 several times in a row?'.

Apparently though, OE throws out so many buffs you can just wad everything up in one super-squad and mash counterattack and never miss. I guess that's cool?

I put a severely underleveled Burning in the GP02 on I think the next to last stage of @1, where you fight Scirocco and Shapiro. He had the 2x EXP seishin, and he ended up jumping like 40 levels.

There was a new (fairly useful) one introduced in the OGs games as a twin seishin; Ing has it. Forget what it's called but it casts Accelerate, Assault, and Fury.

Some series like Mazinger, Eva... are replaced by their newer version, but some original elements are still retained (Mazinger movies' plotline, End of Eva still happen)
Some other ones get upgraded (Great Zeorymer, Hi-Nu, G Gundam manga units), and especially Raideen will get a new gold/silver form kinda like Chouja Raideen, and a combination attack with the full gold one.
Animation will me a mix between 2ndOG and Z3 quality, Arios-san is gonna have a lot of fun with UC Gundam and Dragonar units this time .
New music for old series, preferably vocal ones.
TRI system will return and reworked, and capture system from GC/XO will make an appearance.
How do you guy think about all this?

They tried filling that hole in @2-3 as it was to varying success.

GoShogun and its Docougar assholes really feel like they were just around to fill in the absurdly powerful mafia/weirdass psychic powers hole left by the BF and Big Fire himself. imagine how much more messed up the whole GanEden incident would have been with another ESPer monster on the loose.

@1 setting up the BF as SEELE's big rivals and then dropping the former completely really took the wind out of Eva's sails when it returned in 3. It was really telling when they phoned it in so badly the second half of Eva's lone stage of plot relevance was 95% copied from @Dreamcast's additional end stages, battle in the LCL lake and all. I suppose you could try to fit in some new group of assholes to piss off SEELE and fight Angels on foot, but, uh. Good luck with that.

Or if we're talking about story... well, Giant Robo didn't end up amounting to much anyway because they couldn't get it back for Alpha 2/3 - with that in mind I would say it's actually more removable/rewritable than figuring out where the hell F91 and Victory fucked off to.
