Really? Kaku explains it pretty plainly.The motif of Dairanger comes from Chinese mythology as does its themes: A common eastern philosophy of good and evil is that evil cannot be defeated. It just keeps coming back. It must be fought against forever.
It's kind of like the First Evil from Buffy the Vampire slayer. The Gorma, the specific form evil was taking didn't matter. Dairanger were fighting the very concept of evil. As all sentai do.
It's a deliberately unsatisfying ending and I respect the hell out of them for doing it.

To elaborate, they actually made it quite obvious in Magiranger. They WANTED you to know who he was. Once they revealed it halfway into the show, they progressed the plot and don't dwell on it.
On the other hand, KR Wizard had a clumsily obvious TWEEST many anons could already see by the first 10 episodes or so. However, the writers were still trying to bank on the TWEEST by revealing it towards the very end as if it would blow your mind or something.

I don't understand why you could hate this show. But again and again you see at least 1 guy here who despises it, and the kids in Japan weren't too hot on it which sadly is the one thing that makes or breaks a show there.

The ratings were TERRIBLE, some of the worst ever for sentai. I don't remember what the toy sales were. They also kinda rolled back a lot of the new things they tried out, but who knows if that was because the pleather costumes were unpopular or just a bother to work with, doesn't seem like it made the stunts any worse.
