I just watched episode 29 of Blade, the one with the two Hajimes. Up until ep 20 something I've been quite enjoying the show, despite knowing the consensus regarding how weak the first half is and also aware of the staff change around episode 30ish that apparently made everything better.
However this has to be the worst episode I've ever seen in a Kamen Rider (I've seen Kuuga, Agito, OOO and Drive). Everything, from script to acting and even directing went to the gutter.
Please tell me it's just an awful two-episode minisaga and the creepy, mysterious atmosphere return? I'll be the first to admit that it is a flawed show but I quite liked it until the stupid motorcycle saga and now this (with a few exceptions like the retard that wanted to be a musician and some padding on mutsuki's story but I could deal with that at least).

I do, humor in Agito was quite present, it was less so in Kuuga but still funny from time to time (in a subtle way) and don't even get me started on OOO's (happy birthday anyone?) and Drive's over the top antics.
Perhaps this episode was truthfully really awful AND out of place? the humor in the shows I mentioned managed to be organic and fall within the atmosphere of the show. Blade had some minor gags here and there but it knew how far to go until now. The whole plot with the chick and hajime's double family is painful and considering the series has been depending on mystery it's certainly not cool that two episodes get wasted in this stupid shit.

Kenzaki is one of those Riders that's kind of an idiot, but is so selflessly devoted to saving everyone and being a hero that it leads to some very interesting angles regarding the moral dilemmas that make up the finale of the series.

The anime, starting from the 2nd season (which had a different title in Japan). So, basically he's responsible for all those later seasons filled mostly with anime original episodes.
Still, his Ranma writing is his most mediocre. It doesn't carry his usual qualities and flaws and just ends up bland for it. I'd easily take 3 seasons of Ranma going full Inoue over the bland crap that they actually made in the later seasons. Ranma's filler was such a step down in quality from Urusei Yatsura's...

Same here. I liked him a lot in OOOs, and it's always a bit sad to see most toku actors never getting much more gigs afterwards...guess it mainly goes for the young, unexperienced ones while the older, established actors will manage to continue getting good jobs after being in toku.
