This
Although I will say it gets quite a lot better if you have a passable knowledge of South American history to pick up some of the allegory. It's one of my favorites and you'll enjoy it regardless

loads of people with the same name
i hope your edition has the family tree inside
pretty good, starts strong, gets really boring after ~50-100 pages or so, then picks up steam again. ending is ace.
it's one of those cases, honestly, where the entire book is written just for the last sentence.
>races condemned to 100 years of solitude...
REALLY GARCIA MARQUEZ? REALLY?

Family tree is a major spoiler, though.

What the fuck is with this guy and huge dicks and lolis?
I haven't even read 100 years of solitude but his other shit, especially melancholy for whores or whatever its called was all about this guy and his old donkey dick who wanted some virgin 13 year old before he died.

Open Veins of Latin America was the non-fiction book for south american socialists in the 70s, while this was the fiction.
Seems like anglos enjoy it a lot more than latins. I cannot read it without hearing colombian accents
