you can use a fallacy to convince a person but it is wrong in itself. does there exist an argument for another method of persuasion being different?

Depends on what you are trying to convince a person of. Atheists try to use logic to convince the religious that there is no God, but the conviction of the religious believe is emotional, not logical, so it fails.
Likewise, religious believers try to use emotional arguments to convince atheists that there is a God, but atheists are heartless, robotic husks of people, so it fails.
