How do I break out of that habit? I'm bad at describing things and I don't know how to paint a clear picture without going overboard and fucking up the flow of the writing with too many adjectives

sorta had the same problem when I spoke (mainly when I tried to explain something, recalling a memory, etc.) someone recommended Aristotle's Oreganon. Haven't gotten to it yet but you can see for yourself if you want.
