I read the following Kafka short story and I couldn't help but relate it to a modern day version of the current refugee/migrant situation. When the Emperor looks out the window, I can't help but think "that's fucking Merkel!"

Quite fitting desu, oc course Kaffka obviously couldn't have known about the situation in Germany circa 100 years later. The novel is an allegory about a general sense of helplessness and bewildernment (as all of his writings).

The current migrant crisis is about
1) Population replacement, they need more consumers but consumers are not producing enough little consumers for their markets. Just remember that even Prozac was marketed towards children in the form of sweet-flavoured liquid so children will not "tongue" the poison.
2) Forcing socialism and eventually communism unto the state because 99% of the population are illiterate, working-age males that depend on Mother Merkel's welfare handouts. The stage is already set.
3) George Soros.
I sometimes feel as if Germany is bought out by rich Arabs that want to let his men tear the rest of EU apart like some wild party in a rented hotel room.

I would say it's more to do with how nationalism ironically kills a country along with it's pride, remember the nomads came to see the palace.
