Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul.
Just finished reading this masterpiece earlier today, such an amazing book. Has anyone read any other of Nabokov's novels and if so, do you suggest reading them?
And just in general, what did other readers think about this superb book?
-It was love at first sight, at last sight, at ever and ever sight
pedophile.
4chan: the novel.
Has anyone who read the novel, also watched the film; what did they think of it?
>Doritos, light of my life, cheese on my fingers. My hunger, my munchies. Do-ree-toes: the tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth. Do. Ree. Tos. It was chips, plain chips, during lunch, weighing one-point-eight ounces in one hand. It was Nacho Cheese for snacks. It was Cool Ranch at school. It was Salsa Verde in the shopping line. But in my mouth it was always Doritos.

too old
it was obviously a necessity to get an older actress but it kind of fudges the plot. Also there are two films. The Kubrick has a hallucinary dream-like quality which is cool hinting at the unreliable narrator, whereas the modern film is more like soft focus period drama nostalgia making it seem soft core pornish but not in a good way. Mason is a great choice for Humbert, much better than Irons but Sellers as Quilty was a bad idea.
