Stoicism is just western Buddhism where you suppress your emotions till the whole nation ends up with a suicide rate the size of japan

That's not at all what Stoicism is about, please stop.

Why is Stoicism described as an emotion more than any other branch of philosphy. No one says How do I become a nihilist or an absurdist or shit like that.
>>
It's just an internet tuff guy meme.

because it's not an inquiry, just the name for a Lifestyle™ you can consume.

Well there are other ancient greek life philosophies like hedonism and cynicism.

Like pre christian society was basically a bunch of people searching for different ways to live

Apathy is attractive in contemporary society. Stoicism shares superficial similarities to general apathy, hence girls tend to like it. I doubt most would be too interested in Zeno or Epictetus

Because its a philosophy that directly addresses understanding and being in control of your emotions.

But the word stoic has also been bastardized by modern language into being an emotion itself, similar to apathy or being cold and distant, which isn't really what it's about. Stoicism is about not letting your emotions guide your actions, not to avoid feeling them altogether. It's heavily invested in the idea of self control, restraint, and support of purposes higher than the self, which is probably why it's so lauded in a narcissistic age filled with rampant hedonic consumerism.
