How do you get your ebooks, /lit/?
by reading the sticky
>>8208117
usully google: "authors last name, book name epub"
irchighway #ebooks and bibliotik
I download them illegally because copyright is a spook
I go to Amazon and pay above the price of a paperback.
Gotta support the author amirite?
On my computer
I use the internet personally
bookzz
I ask my mom to get them for me
>>8208117
bookzz from the sticky and torrents for everything I can't find on there, if it's so obscure I can't even do that I'll purchase it.
tfw poor
soulseek niggers
Google "[book title] + pdf"
>semen demon is Kelly Baltazar and has done porn
I give money to people who print them out on paper, bind them, and deliver them to me in a handy non-electronic form.

edge is strong
rare amelia wang
>$10.99 on Amazon
>completely free on Gutenberg
This shit is not okay. It's like the polar opposite of pirating
>>8210628
I'm a pirater, but I understand why translators want a few shekels for their work
I have a 12 GB archive with every book I need, unless it's something new. But I only pirate if it's an old book with a dead author and I'm not very confident the book will be worth it. Or when it's a niche title and I can't find it anywhere else.
BookZZ, Bookfi, LibGen, Gutenburg, etc.
I have an aaaaarg account but it's useless
>>8210628
>A new translation by Edith Grossman
>Introduction by Harold Bloom
It's not on Gutenberg.
>>8208966
>>8209255

Question, /lit/. What ebook reader do you use to read .mobi files? Windows 8. I use adobe digital editions for epubs, but I need something for .mobis.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you dumb

Soulseek, Mobilism, and less and less libgen. Also my library's overdrive is really good.
>>8219562

>Every collector of e-books on /lit/ is not in the ebook room on soulseek RIGHT NOW.
Don't you guys want a false sense of brotherhood and community?
>>8220305
Go to one of the red boards and ask them, you deranged fuck.
>>8219586
it's not "might really be her", it actually is her. she only had a hope of not being found cause so much time passed and nobody would care to look her up using her middle name but it's there.
i wonder if people around her know she did porn.
>>8208117
>HOW DID WE GO FROM THIS
>>8219586
makes you wonder how many other girls hashtagging about herbal tea have been facefucked until puking by a hairy assed guy wearing cheap sneakers on camera.
what does bibliotik have that you can't find through other means (irc, libgen, soulseek)?

most stuff on bib eventually makes it onto the other sources, because we like to share and spread the goods around. What sets bib apart is a dedicated userbase that will track down any book you request and get it for you if available. There's people with access to all sorts of content, and there's a pretty good request system set up, so if your request is actually doable, you can expect a result in 24 hrs or less usually.
Plus, new books make it onto bib waaay before anywhere else. Tell me if you find Rafael Chirbes' Over the Edge anywhere, for instance.
>>8215959
It looks like mostly the same users host on both
I think it's kind of dull to assume the internet is your wild wild west and one has the right to access any of its content at any time. Yee-haw! *shoots pistol*
>>8225206
you're right. Copyright laws, on the other hand, are so exciting...
>>8225451
>If it's not exciting, it's bad.
I think you misunderstand the definition of "dull". Which, in your case, would make sense. It's kind of a Catch-22.
>>8225206
i think most people know they are not actually entitled or have a right to the content. it's not right but nobody cares that it's wrong.
>>8225459
>I think you misunderstand the definition of "dull"
please enlighten me

why does it ask for my dropbox login info when I want to install it? Is that how it works?
>>8225513
No. When I installed it it acted like open source technology, and i basically just had to type in the username i wanted to use.
>>8225513
you fucked something up
