Does anybody on /lit/ write just for fun? Has anyone here ever completed a whole novel, not caring if it sucked or not, not doing it to be a writer, but because they genuinely enjoyed doing it?
pic unrelated

that's what i'm doing now, although i'm going to do my damnedest to make some kind of chump change (even if a few cents) with KDP.
deep down, the reason is because i just enjoy immersing myself in these other worlds. it's a lot of fun.

does shitposting count?
Who's that manga man? He intrigues me.
Anyway, sorta. I write lots of things just cause I like to. Getting published seems like a pain. And what would it do for me? Bring in money? Get my stuff looked at? Who cares? I don't write for that.

apparently he's a character from Bungou Stray Dogs. i just saw it on /cm/ and liked it, don't know anything about the show/books. i hardly watch animu/read manga at all these days, just like the bois from them

Amen, writefriend. I've finished four novels in my life and I'm always confused when the first thing people ask me is "are you published?". Sometimes I send my stuff off but mostly I just do it because it's what I enjoy the most.

yeah, with the first four books i wrote
it's only now that i think i may be good enough that i've gone back and rewritten the first book (which is still my favorite) to try and send out. i have another month or two before i think i'll have it where i want it.
I wrote a few paragraphs for about an hour last night, time kind of just flew by too. I can see why people do it for a living, or at least try to.
Anyway, it's something I'm going to try to do more often and see where it goes. I don't have any stories to tell but whatever.
