I've listened to thousands of hip-hop albums and I'm not just saying that for arguments sake. I genuinely fucking wanted to find some hidden gem that could in any way hold it's own when compared to other great pieces of art from other mediums but didn't find a single one. What I did find was mostly the same bullshit about trivial things repeated over and over. Or rappers that wrote lyrics as if they had just discovered simile and metaphor the day before.
