What are your thoughts on The Witcher books other than >genre fiction?
i have no thoughts on them. why waste my time reading that when there are countless other books to read?

His writing is interesting as far as the genre goes. I would definitely recommend him over someone like Rowling, Martin, Collins or whoever else kids are being compelled into liking these days. His stories don't really have much staying power, however, as they all seem to doggedly follow a very obvious pattern.

I mean - it is an interesting take on fantasy - but it gets incredibly repetitive. His work really does need to try and be more thematically diverse.

Overrated shit and the author is an arrogant fat fuck.
Read them as they were coming out. Reading them and Prattchet largely taught me how to write as a kid. Upon a reread, they were a little weaker, as a lot of the latter plotlines just seemed to be a filling. Essentially, he used action scenes where Tolkien used wise quips and moral observations, which made him unable to quite get there. Still worth a read.
The Hussite Trilogy is also better. Why the fuck is that shit not translated? It's so good.
It was ok, not bad but nothing amazing either. In places it was rather slow and dragged out. When it was good, it was really good but the good parts were far and few between.
7/10 I hope the main series is better as I am going to start Blood of Elves soon.

Nope, the so-called Witcher Saga is worse than short stories. BoE and ToC are quite decent, but remaining books are rather slow and boring.
