There was an older book I was reading years ago, can't remember the name.
I'm pretty sure its very well known. Its about a group of travelers, probably on some pilgrimage, who stop at an inn but have no money. The innkeeper agrees to let them stay in exchange for some stories. That's the framework for the rest of the book which is pretty much a collection of short stories the travelers are telling. Also it was never officially finished IIRC. Thanks.
