Has the use of psychoactive drugs ever produced one valuable insight?
I know that getting "wisdom" from the insane and retarded has a sort of romantic appeal but come on these guys are doddering idiots and none of their theories have ever been substantiated.

I'm not any of those anons and I also almost never do drugs, but a few years ago I tried salvia, and although it wasn't enough to make me trip I did get pretty high. While staring out of the care at the street lights my brain told me "you know why you are the way you are is because you feel like everybody is watching you, but nobody is watching you. do what you want to do because you want to do it." and I said "ah shit" out loud.
that's my only drug induced "epiphany". I immediately loosened up after that but I was pretty young and probably would've figured it out eventually

The reason people give that answer is not so much intellectual bankruptcy as it is the realization that the qualia of a psychedelic experience doesn't lend itself to be expressed in language. It's similar to trying to explain the colour red to someone born blind.
