Does anyone know of any good writings that draw parallels between the archetypal figure of the young girl who becomes lost in the wild woods and undergoes an allegorical coming of age journey, figures like Red Riding Hood or Alice and the mythological archetype of Persephone? I remember reading something about this subject in a thread here once and now I suddenly have found interest.

sounds as a bs
persie was raped (kidnapped and forcedly (or 'forcedly', not sure if she minded) married) by hades, now, we can assume the big bad wolf as a hades-like figure (poor thing, he was eviscerated for simply wanting to marry red riding hood), but if we take the books about alice, they have no ominous male figure whatsoever, the main villains there are females - the queen of hearts and the red queen (btw it makes the books sexist and misogynist but it's a different matter...)

>Women are simply inferior. They're like children mentally and hence can't come of age. They need a strong authoritarian disciplinary man to keep them in place.
