What ereader do you use? not looking to spend much money is the cheap fire any good?
I bought an Amazon kindle 2nd gen for $20 at a thrift store. They're probably cheap on ebay or whatever as well. You can put pirated books on it no problem, and although the screen and font are probably shitter than the new expensive ones, they're pretty good. I say go for that.

the fire is not an ereader, it's a tablet

Good point. Reading on tablets probably fucks up your eyes to a greater extent than e-ink screens.

I bought one for my wifes daughter this christmas, it was shit. Hard to set up, cheaply made.
Kindle Touch or the Kindle with the buttons on the side with no keyboard are the best for your buck. Paperwhite is the best out there and then Kobo Glo. Voyage and Oasis are for people who having shopping addictions, but are slightly better paperwhites.
Kobo Aura is the best. Kindle is a shit.

I (and many other people) usually read before bed. Using any electronic device with a blue light screen in the 2-3 hours before bed has been repeatedly linked to symptoms of insomnia and poorer quality sleep. I'm an undergraduate (I know lol) and this is the area of study I'm doing my senior seminar research on.

I use a nook lite.

This is what I did and continue to use that thing daily, no regrets.

Why do research on something that's already been researched so often? Not like physics students go rediscover the laws of motion
