Soul can't be defined, only felt.
It's very hard to define and perhaps only exists as something comparative.
There is the ego, or the sense of self in relation to other "selves."
There is the notion of authenticity, which can be nebulously perceived in artistic products as a legitimate (accurate) articulation of one's "existence" (collection of experiences).
There are the passions, or emotions, that are expressed / controlled in varying degrees.
Then there is the metaphysical, mystical, out-of-body connectivity achieved through meditation, drugs, or certain communal activities. This is akin to a "collective consciousness."
Or the soul may simply be something that exists in language.
