I don't know how experienced you are in this, but I used to read on a tablet a few years ago and I always got an headache after half an hour, night mode or not. I bought an ereader and it's the best purchase I've ever made.

I found the right android book reader for myself. It's going pretty well for me.
With a text to speech option I can turn most of my books into audiobooks spoken by a robot.
Have you tried using Sleipnir for a browser? The text feels nice when I read a text heavy website like a book review website.
