I try to take the best from all of them. From Kant I take all his thoughts about phenomenology, from Spinoza the pantheism and other ideas of God and from Nietzsche the concept of the Ubermensch with all the stuff related to it and the revisitation of the eternal return.

I had to really think about this, which was humbling in a way. I was surprised to find that I couldn't fire off my answers immediately. Obviously these aren't the most influential or historically important icons of their respective fields but those who mean the most to me personally. Also, I realize Strindberg was predominantly a playwright, though he did write a novel (The Red Room) and several short stories. The work of his I most admire is Inferno, which is hard to classify but highly recommended.
