Excuse me if this is considered a redundant question here, but I'd like to know; what are some more books of this style?

I.E an engaging and readable story elevated by particularly elegant use of prose?

Lolita is a masterpiece but Pale Fire and Pnin are even better IMHO

I also highly recommend Gabriel Garcia Marquez - even in translation to English he's incredible. Don't know if he just gets great translators or something about his work translates well, but Rabassa's One Hundred Years of Solitude and Grossman's Love in the Time of Cholera are both top-shelf English prose (and great stories as well).
