I carry my backpack everywhere because I ride the bus. I've always got like 3 physical books, plus my Kindle with 100-plus books, on me at all times.
I used to be self conscious about how backpacks looked, so I bought a messenger bag right before I started undergrad. It broke on the second day, and since I was just about broke, I bought the cheapest backpack Target had, a Jansport "transport" bag. It cost a third of what my stylish messenger bag did, but it carried 3 times as much. It's lasted me six years now, I've carried it on every trip I've been on, and I carried it with me all over Europe when I was traveling. I used it instead of a duffelbag or something, packing clothes etc. in it as well as my books.
tl;dr Suck it up, get a plain black backpack. It doesn't look bad, and it won't quit.
>going outside
H-heh.
How about a bigger bag???
