The "funny" thing is that Priests and Pakistanis do the same thing and no one is allowed to talk about it. Same in England, France etc. Look at how much trouble Houellebecq gets for writing about what's happening. A lesser known writer would just be flatly banned or would fail to be published. It's a shame, but there has never been total freedom of speech, press, or publishing. You want the freedom to lie and slander? I don't, but the irony is that this sort of rape is happening in the streets and the government are more perturbed of a fiction! The whole thing is a mess.

Allen Ginsburg's "Howl" was the book in question that was being debated. Just cause your country isn't as free as ours doesn't mean you have to throw out blanket statements about America.

If a society banned Twilight on the basis it's shittily written abusive relationship porn, I'd think "Good.
