How do you expect to learn anything about Shinto if you don't know Moon? Admittedly, the Kojiki would prove a challenge even for an expert in the language, but still you are in for a surprise if you think Japanese culture can be properly translated and understood into English.

there isnt much to know. it's a cave nigger religion. animism. pokemon perfectly represent how they see spirits. they have spirits for fucking everything. poopoo(grimer), peepee(squirtle), cats(meowth), fire(charmander)
every place, river, element, plant, forest, fucking any concept you can concieve of, there can be a spirit for. and so you make a shrine and worship it. the shrines are a little more formal with the special rooms and buildings with magic mirrors.(pokemon dojos)
then there are various stories but it mostly boils down to every nip being born from the fiery hot sun which is also a nine tailed fox(ninetails)
the tori gates just keep the ghosts from escaping like how we have lychgates.
then there are also these shit tier mirrors that you cant really see shit in but its meant to be your soul you see reflected back.
