Dimitri verhulst is a perfect combination between cynical, accesible, hilarious and beautifull prose without becoming a Bukowski rip. Glad to see one of my favourite Belgian writers mentioned here.
Also: How the fuck would you translate "De helaasheid der dingen?"
Great title if you ask me. Same with "Nothing, no one and fairly quiet", "Love unless otherwise mentiond" and "Goddamned days on a goddamned globe".
