What's your least favorite thing about your own writing? Or, what are some problems you need to work on with it?
>I use conjunctions like "but", "however", and "although" too much
>>
I'm generally worried about not being creative enough. It's hard for me to judge.
>>
Describe banal things too much
>>
I have weak spatial and chronological control. I offer meaningless details relating to travel and vistas when the core of the narrative is interactions between people. Then when the interactions come, they go on word for word interminably, so the meaningless descriptive details in between become padding for overgrown dialogue sequences.

Then when I start cutting, the narrative seems rushed and super-intense when it should be leisurely.
>>
When I write nonfiction I tend to write too little. If I was DFW (minus his long-winded style), "E Unibus Plurum" would only be about ten pages long. They say brevity is the soul of wit but it feels off when I get everything I want to say out in only a few pages.
>>
Seeing the same name or pronoun for something used multiple times consecutively in anything I've written always irks me.
>>
Sometimes my shit sounds like an bureaucratic document. This could be fine if I wrote humour, but I don't use to.
>>
My characters not being that well developed so it feels like I'm grasping at straws to move the plot forward. Same when it comes to unfolding the worldbuilding.

It sucks desu
>>
If I'm clear, then I'll feel it's direct and simple. If I aim to be subtle I feel like the end product is too distant and unrelated from what I aimed for.

Also shit action, no thrills

It's weird shit.
Always, I cant write coherent stuff, its always like its something between Maleev and some Magical Realism thing, it's just that mine is shit.
Also little describing. Charakters are, things happen, little more.
>>
The lack of it.
>>
I always just end up writing about sex.
>>
I do not write, I don't enjoy the act of writing. It bores me, I prefer to read. Am I stupid?

An established author actually told me he liked the approach taken in these, but I'm still not sure if it was sincere positive criticsm.
>>
Everything I write comes off a Pynchon fanfiction, Burroughs or Bob Dylan ripoff.

I'm too postmodern for my own good.
>>
I use the same sentence structure way too much.
XXX, only to XXX
XXX, but XXX
XXX, walking towards XXX
>>
>too literal
>too to the point
>>
that it's derivative shit
>>
My complete inability to write engrossing dialogue
