Didn't find this that good. I enjoyed it, it was an easy read. I got excited when it got to sensei's letter part. After the book ended I realized it was just about a pathetic loser who was too afraid to confess his love. And an even more pathetic loser who thought it was worth his time to over glorify some random loser.

Yeah. I don't even like Soseki among Japanese authors, but people here shat themselves about this book here a few years ago. I haven't seen it mentioned lately. In fact, J-lit threads are much less common outside of the occasional Mishima thread.
