This is one of my favourite books that I own—William Cowper, The Task. Got it for forty bucks. Published by John Sharp, 1825, but I don't know whether it's a contemporary binding. Either way, I love it. Marbled endpapers too.

saw this one in the library today, and I was reminded of this thread. It's a 1902 first edition. The interior is also very seemly—the frontispiece, the chapter headings, the illustrations are all very pretty; the only thing that strikes me as dull is the spine.
