Are there any post apocalyptic novels or short stories having to do with the earths oceans drying up and people surviving in tribe like societies? I'm currently looking an inspiration for writing in this type of setting.

Mad Max
Literally what you described there.
Book of the New Sun

I thought of that but Max does have the right tone. I'm looking for more a of surreal feeling with less "primal carnage" and "civil beginnings". sorry its hard to explain.

If its hard to explain in an imageboard, how the fuck are your going to write a novel about it?

Ballard- The Burning World
The oceans don't dry up, but Alas, Babylon might be something worth looking at. Story centers on a small community of survivors of a nuclear holocaust in central Florida.
How to tell your story idea is amateurish trash and should be scrapped:
>post apocalyptic
> surviving in tribe like societies
Try Dies the Fire, maybe? Follows a couple groups of people after all electricity and guns stop working. Post-apocalypse meets Lord of the Rings, kinda. The books are pretty trashy though.
